Get from zero to tracked campaigns in about five minutes.
1. Choose which parameters to track
Go to UTM Manager → Settings. All six standard UTM parameters are enabled by default:
| Parameter | Typical use |
|---|---|
utm_source | Where the traffic comes from (google, facebook, newsletter) |
utm_medium | The marketing channel (cpc, email, social, banner) |
utm_campaign | The specific campaign (black-friday-sale, spring-launch) |
utm_term | Paid search keywords |
utm_content | Which ad or link variant was clicked |
utm_id | A campaign ID from your ads platform |
Disable any you don’t use and click Save Changes. Disabled parameters are simply ignored when visits are recorded.
2. Tag your campaign URLs
Add UTM parameters to the links you share in ads, emails, and social posts:
https://your-site.com/landing-page/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=black-friday-sale
Tips for clean data:
- Be consistent with casing —
googleandGoogleare counted as different sources. - Use dashes or underscores instead of spaces —
black-friday-sale, notblack friday sale. - Pick one naming convention for campaigns and stick to it across every channel.
3. Watch the leads arrive
- UTM Manager (Dashboard) — totals, a new-leads trend chart, and your top sources, mediums, and campaigns.
- UTM Manager → Leads — every lead with identity, attribution, visit count, and last-seen date. Use the dropdown filters and date range to slice the list.
- Click any lead — see their first-touch and last-touch attribution plus every page they visited.
4. Export when you need to
Go to UTM Manager → Tools, pick a date range and the fields you want, and click Export. The CSV is generated in batches (no timeouts on large datasets) and downloads automatically. Details: CSV Export.
