Requirements
- WordPress 5.3 or later
- PHP 7.4 or later
- An API key from at least one AI provider — Google Gemini offers a free tier, so you can start without spending anything
- (Optional) A free API key from Pexels, Unsplash, or Pixabay for featured images
- Working WP-Cron — campaigns run on WordPress’s scheduler. On low-traffic sites, consider a real cron job for punctual runs.
Installing the free plugin
From your dashboard (recommended):
- Go to Plugins → Add New.
- Search for “AI Content Writer”.
- Click Install Now, then Activate.
Manual upload:
- Download the ZIP from WordPress.org.
- Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP, and click Install Now.
- Activate the plugin.
After activation, you’ll find an AI Content Writer menu in your admin sidebar with Dashboard, Campaigns, Generate Content, Logs, Settings, and Help.
Installing AI Content Writer Pro
The Pro add-on extends the free plugin — you need both active:
- Make sure the free AI Content Writer plugin (v2.4.0 or later) is installed and active.
- Download the Pro ZIP from your BeautifulPlugins account.
- Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, upload the ZIP, and activate it.
- Activate your license to unlock the Pro features and automatic updates.
Updating
The free plugin updates through WordPress.org like any other plugin. Pro updates appear on your Plugins screen once your license is active. Always keep both plugins on their latest versions — Pro releases are matched to free releases (e.g. Pro 1.1.0 requires free 2.4.0+).
