Your license key unlocks Pro updates and support. You’ll find it in your purchase receipt email and in your BeautifulPlugins account.
The modules work without a license. The Announcement Bar, Click to Chat and Content Protection keep working whether or not the license is active. The license gives you automatic updates and support.
Activating
- Install and activate both plugins: the free Essential Elements (1.3.0+) and Essential Elements Pro. See Installation.
- Go to Plugins and find Essential Elements Pro. Click the License link under the plugin name, or use the license row shown below the plugin.
- Paste your key into Enter your license key and click Activate.
- You’ll see "License activated successfully." and the status changes to License is valid. Updates now appear on your Plugins screen.
Until the license is active, an admin notice reminds you to activate it.
License buttons
Once a key is saved, the license row shows:
- Deactivate: releases this site’s activation so you can use it on another site.
- Check License: re-checks the key with our server and shows how many activations you have left.
The plugin also re-checks your license in the background periodically, so a renewed, upgraded or expired license is picked up automatically.
Moving a site
Licenses are tied to the sites where they’re activated. Moving from staging to production, or to a new domain? Click Deactivate on the old site first, then activate on the new one. If the old site no longer exists, manage activations from your BeautifulPlugins account.
Troubleshooting
"This appears to be an invalid license key" or "Invalid license.": copy the key directly from your receipt or account page, and watch for leading or trailing spaces.
"Your license is not active for this URL.": the key isn’t activated on this site’s address. Click Activate again, or check that the site URL under Settings → General matches your real domain.
No activations left: your plan’s site limit is reached (Personal: 1, Professional: 5). Deactivate an unused site from your account page, or upgrade your plan.
"Your license key expired on …": renew from your account page to keep receiving updates and support. Pro keeps working after expiry, but you’ll miss compatibility fixes and new features.
"Your license key has been disabled.": contact support.
Updates not showing: confirm the status is License is valid., then go to Dashboard → Updates and click Check Again.
Still stuck? Open a support ticket with your license key and site URL.
