Is there a free version?

Yes. The free plugin on WordPress.org runs complete auctions: bidding, reserve prices, Buy It Now, countdowns, automatic winners, payment through WooCommerce checkout, emails, a watchlist, shortcodes, and admin screens. Pro adds proxy bidding, sealed bids, anti-sniping, relisting, payment deadlines, reports, and a REST API.

Does it work with my theme?

Yes. Auctions are ordinary WooCommerce products, so they use your theme’s product templates. Every piece of auction markup is a template you can override and restyle.

How does the winner pay?

When the auction ends, the winner gets an email with a payment link and checks out through your normal WooCommerce checkout, using your existing gateways, shipping, and taxes. Only the winner can buy a finished auction.

What is proxy bidding?

Bidders enter the most they’re willing to pay, and the store bids for them one increment at a time, only as much as needed to keep them in the lead. eBay works the same way. It keeps bidders engaged and pushes final prices up. It’s included in Pro.

What stops last-second sniping?

Pro’s anti-sniping extends the auction when a bid arrives in the closing window — for example, 5 extra minutes for any bid in the last 5 minutes. Everyone gets a fair chance to respond.

What if the winner doesn’t pay?

With Pro, you set a payment deadline and the winner gets automatic reminders. When the deadline passes, Bidra can offer the item to the next highest bidder or relist it automatically.

What if WP-Cron is unreliable on my host?

Auctions are also checked whenever their page is viewed, so visitors always see the correct state even if a scheduled task is late.

Do I need the free plugin to run Pro?

Yes. Bidra Auctions Pro is an add-on to the free Bidra Auctions for WooCommerce plugin (v1.0.1 or later), so install and activate both.
